*growls* I'm beginning to miss the days when the only things a guy had to worry about being fully charged were the batteries in his calculator and the propellant in his shaving cream. I had to stop using my old PDA years ago because it started eating batteries at the rate of a set every week or so, forgetting everying in memory every time with little or no warning before the batteries died. I had to stop using my old electric razor months ago because the batteries couldn't hold a charge anymore. Now I'm staying at my parents house for the week, and everyone uses electric toothbrushes. And what happens?
You guessed it. The batteries in the toothbrush run out! And this is even though I diligently put the thing on its charging stand after every use. Some inconsiderate person, most likely my electricity conservation-obsessed dad, decided to unplug the charging station at some point, and I just never noticed! I mean, seriously. Mom tells me to use the toothbrush, I use the toothbrush! It's been months since I touched one of those things, so how was I supposed to remember that you're supposed to look for a little green light to show that the thing is charging? My old printer didn't even have a functioning "on" light.
I'm pretty sure it's my dad who unplugged the charging station. He has this obsession with turning off power strips when people aren't actively using the devices attached to them, unplugging laptops when not in use, that sort of thing. Apparently he never listened when I told him that my laptop batteries (made before the advent of lithium batteries) have a shelf-life of only one or two days before losing their entire charge. Leave the thing off and unplugged for an hour, and you're already down to only 75% charge. Try to RUN the laptop unplugged, and you're lucky if it goes for an hour before putting itself in hibernation mode.
Of course, Dad only unplugs laptops. He leaves desktop computers, monitors... pretty much anything that doesn't have a battery that needs to be kept charged, he leaves plugged in with the power strip on. *gripes* Of all the irrational things to be obsessive-compulsive about...
Speaking of OCD, I think my Dad might have it. He has a habit of locking the door from the garage, even if the outer door is open, both cars are in the garage, all the keys are on their hooks, and one of the members of the family is not in the house. I mean, how many times have I been sent to get the mail or the paper and returned to find myself locked out. And then they wonder why I get impatient and grumpy when it takes a over a minute for someone to answer my banging on the door to let me in.
Anyway... Sorry for the bad mood in this post. I'll try to have a better one next time.

That's not a good thing for rechargables eh. You should always fully drain them before recharging them at least 3 times when you first get them, and do a full drain/recharge every now and then, about once every 2 weeks to keep them good, ESPECIALLY with the nickel based batteries (NiCad/NiMH). The Lithium Ion's are less succeptable to problems, but it's always a good thing to do the same with them :)

From Snowy ^.^
Hehe, well love, depending on the tooth brush, like escalators, they are one of the few things that retain usefulness when they run out of power. An escelator can only become stairs, and an electric tooth brush just requires you to use a little elbow grease. But hopefully you'll be able to go home soon where you'll have your own DSL connection, and then you won't have to stay at your parent's house to use their electricity.
I do hope to see you soon! Lots of love and kisses.
Your beloved Snowfur.
